모낭충 (Demodex) 은 인체의 피부에서 발견되는 가장 흔한 외부 기생충으로 여러 피부 질환들의 원인으로 알려져 있다[1].
역학
모낭충 감염률은 연령이 증가함에 따라 상승하여 60세 이상은 84%, 70세 이상은 100% 에서 감염이 발생한다는 보고도 있다[2]. 만성 눈꺼풀염 환자의 30% 정도에서 모낭충 감염이 진단되었다는 보고도 있다[3].
