홍채 낭종 (iris cyst) 은 1830년 MacKenzie[1]가 전방에서 외상 후 발생한 것을 처음 보고하였다.
분류
발생 원인에 따라 분류한다.
- 일차성 : 특별한 원인 없이 발생한다[2][3][4]. 병변의 크기가 증가하거나 합병증이 발생하는 경우가 드물고, 안정적인 상태를 유지하는 경우가 많다. 그러나 시력 저하 또는 시야 이상, 녹내장, 만성 홍채염과 같은 합병증이 발생하는 경우도 있기에, 안과적 증상이 나타나면 보다 적극적인 치료가 요구된다[5][6].
- 이차성 : 외상, 수술, 약물, 종양 그리고 결핵 등과 같은 원인으로 발생한다.
