알파코
알파코 (AlphaCor ™)[1] 인공 각막 (Addition Technology Inc., Des Plaines, IL) 은 Chirila와 그의 동료들이 호주에서 개발했다[2]. pHEMA(poly-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) 재질로 만든 무공성의 투명한 광학부와, 기질 세포와 혈관이 침투할 수 있도록 같은 재질로 된 주변부의 다공 스커트로 구성되어 있다. 이 장치는 친수성이기 때문에 조직이 녹는 것을 방지하기 위해서는 건강한 눈물층이 필수적이다. 특정한 국소 약물 투여가 장치를 불투명하게 만들 수 있다.

- 동종 각막 이식 거부
금기
- 단순포진 각막염[3]
- 자가 면역 질환
