성장 호르몬 치료에 의해 발생하는 IICH는 1992년 해외에서 처음보고 되었으며 환자가 소아인만큼 증상은 무증상부터 전형적인 두개내압 상승의 증상인 두통, 오심, 구토가 나타나는 경우까지 다양했으나 모든 환자에서 시신경 유두 부종이 동반되었다는 특징이 있다<ref>Malozowski S et al.
